Two Steps to Live Streaming Your Desktop Screen to Facebook Live

Sharing is caring!

Going live from your desktop is available from your Business Page. While there are ways to stream your desktop from your personal Facebook profile, it requires a little bit of a hack so we’ll cover that in a future video.

The primary benefit of streaming live on your desktop is that you can plug in a variety of hi powered web cams and you can even use video capture cards to stream HD video from any HDMI enabled camcorder.

Facebook Live desktop videos means you can also share your screen and present a webinar or powerpoint right onto Facebook where your audience already lives.

This is a 2- step process where

1. You’ll get an encoding software program called OBS
2. You’re going to live stream video to your Facebook page.

Now there’s lots of cool things you can do in OBS like pic-in-pic streaming and adding cool images and video but we’ll get to that in a future video so don’t forget to subscribe to the channel

Hi Owen, great video! THANK YOU.

Question, I have an event linked to public page and I want to screen share during my LIVE video stream through my event. Would this process work the same way? Or does it only work from my public fan page?
